Waffle Snack

  • 2 Kodiak Protein Waffles
  • 1/2 tbs of freshly grounded peanut butter on each waffle
  • 1/2 tbs of sugar-free jam on each waffle

“Here is what I like to eat before I teach or take any sort of cardio-based class. The blueberry ones are my favorite! I have found this gives me something in my stomach, so I have the energy to last throughout my class and others, but doesn’t cause any acid re-flux while I’m moving around.” – Claire Black, WOD U-Jam Master Trainer.

What are the nutritional benefits?

Kodiak Protein Waffles (blueberry)

If you need a dose of protein, Kodiak Protein Waffles are 100% Whole grain with 12 grams of protein per serving. The blueberry option has 270 calories, 13 grams of fat, 29 grams of carbs, and all non-GMO ingredients, according to the Kodiak Cake website.

Freshly Grounded Peanut Butter

Peanut butter freshly ground is made of grounded peanuts with a bit of added salt. Pure peanut butter is plant-based and seen as a good source of protein and a fit for a low-carb diet, as reported in an article on Healthline. However, due to peanut and other nut allergies, not everyone can eat peanut butter. As a substitution, try some nut-free alternatives like sunflower seed butter and Tahini.

Sugar-free Jam

Sugar-free jam can add some nutritional value, and taste to your food. Along with this, fruit jams can be a better option since it is a great source of energy and fiber. If you cannot find the right sugar-free jam, you can also make your own.
